What are the different types of conveyor belts

The main types of conveyor systems are belts and rollers. Conveyor belts are generally used for food processing and manufacturing. Whereas roller belts are more likely to be used in warehouses and distribution centres.

Benefits of roller conveyors

  • Very efficient
  • Cost little to run
  • Reliable and simple
  • Low maintenance (easy to acquire and replace parts)
  • Works well with other tools and systems

Benefits of belt conveyors

  • Easy to use and fast
  • Reduces labour cost
  • Increases productivity
  • Very helpful in truck loading and unloading
  • Adaptable orientations: incline, decline, horizontal

What are the benefits of a conveyor belt or roller system

The use of conveyor belts and roller systems tackles age-old challenges many industries face, automation solutions. They not only make separating and packaging goods more efficient they also decrease human error and save so much time which can be used elsewhere. Conveyor belts use a continuous loop of material to move products. In contrast, roller conveyors use cylindrical rollers to transport items. The best choice for the job often depends on the nature of the products being transported.
