January Coverage in Machinery Update Magazine

This January we were pleased to have one of our recent conveyor projects featured in Machinery Update, the machinery journal for processing and packaging in the UK, published by PPMA. In the article, our work with Ilapak is showcased – with a print run of over 9,5000 and 30,000 online readers, we hope to encourage similar project enquiries.

Ilapak required a full turnkey solution to bag loose leaf salad at 500kgs per hour, with the risk of leaves not discharging correctly eliminated. After several trials, we created a belt system with a meshed nub top belt from Forbo Siegling. Using elevated conveyors, we integrated the belt with labelling and coding equipment to ensure staff had minimal manual work throughout the process.

Roy Fowler, sales director at UPM Conveyors states, “The project was a complete success for the client and due to our hard work and diligence, we have been requested to submit proposals for another project with them to automate more fresh produce. Hearing positive feedback is always important to us and we strive for excellence in every project we complete.”
